The WEO Hands-on Training Area is open throughout the congress. This teaching activity provides a constant opportunity for delegates to switch between the more passive learning from the big lectures to active training – implementing new techniques and using new models. The stations featured in this area include state-of-the-art models and simulators (hemostatic devices, EMR and ESD devices, and more).
LATEST UPDATE : Due to overwhelming response, all slots for the hands-on training session by WEO have been taken up. However, hands-on training sessions by Boston Scientific, Cantel Medical and Cook Medical are still available on a first come first serve basis. Please refer to the end of this webpage for registration details.
ASIAN NOVEL BIO-IMAGING & INTERVENTION GROUP
One of the highlights of first day of ENDO 2017 will be the hands-on training conducted by the Asian Novel Bio-Imaging & Intervention Group (ANBIG), with a focus on advanced therapeutic procedures including ESD and POEM. ANBIG is established as non-government organization aiming to improvement in endoscopic diagnosis and treatment of early gastrointestinal cancers through standardized training and educational programs. The ANBIG workshop in ENDO 2017 will be conducted in a similar structured training program by world renowned experts, including Prof Haruhiro Inoue, Prof Kenshi Yao,Prof Noriya Uedo, Prof Prateek Sharma, Prof Yasushi Sano, Prof Rajvinder Singh and Prof Philip Chiu. As new elements in this program, hands-on training of novel advanced therapeutic procedures including ESD and POEM will be conducted. Don’t miss it!

WORLD ENDOSCOPY ORGANIZATION/ KOREAN SOCIETY OF GASTROINTESTINAL ENDOSCOPY
This hands-on training is intended to give the participants a chance to actually insert and deploy the plastic and/or metal stent endoscopically in the dummy model. There will be five stations, including esophagus and/or pylorus stenting, colon stenting, bile duct plastic stenting, CBD metal stenting and hilar bile duct stenting (stent-in-stent and stent-by-stent). At each station there will be two experienced tutors from KSGE members to help you with the procedure. Participants will be working in small groups so everyone can fully understand the principle and tips of stenting. Be sure to sign-up ahead if you are interested in this interactive activity. By participating in this hands-on training program, participants can expect to gain in-depth understanding of plastic and/or metal stenting which is fundamental in the management of patient with both benign and malignant gastrointestinal and biliary strictures. WORLD ENDOSCOPY ORGANIZATION/DIGESTIVE ENDOSCOPY SOCIETY OF TAIWAN
This workshop will feature tutored hands-on training of therapeutic ERCP procedures, including biliary and pancreatic cannulation, stenting, stone extraction, etc. These procedures will be performed on ERCP simulators using real endoscopes and accessories. At each station two experienced endoscopists will serve as tutors to coach the training, featuring hands-on practice and vibrant interactive discussion. We believe through this activity participants will gain further understanding of the fundamental procedures in therapeutic ERCP. Don’t miss it!

WORLD ENDOSCOPY ORGANIZATION/ASIAN EUS GROUP
At the Asian EUS Workshop, participants will have the exciting opportunity to learn and refresh their knowledge and skills in EUS. They will be introduced to 6 stations with 2 set up for learning radial anatomy using phantom, 2 for linear anatomy using phantom, and 2 stations for EUS-FNA using FNA model. With all the hands-on sessions to be facilitated by experienced and interactive trainers, we are confident the trainees will be able to attain the learning outcomes of understanding the EUS anatomy as well as the skilful manipulation of the scopes to acquire the desired images. Chinese Society of Digestive Endoscopy (CSDE) hands-on training course on ERCP is intended to give the participants the chance performing endoscope cannulation, catheter cannulation and sphincterotomy endoscopically in the dummy model. There will be 2 stations available: 1) for all participants in language of English 2) for Chinese participants in Chinese. WORLD ENDOSCOPY ORGANIZATION/THAI ASSOCIATION OF GASTROINTESTINAL ENDOSCOPY
Expert tutoring will be available at one station for fine needle aspiration cytoplogy and biopsy, two stations for EUS biliary drainage with metal stent and three stations for EUS pseudocyst drainage with plastic stent or various kinds of metal stent, Nagi, Spaxus and Axois. Step by step our trainers, all experienced endosonographers, will give guidance and support to help you to perform in day-to-day practice. BOSTON SCIENTIFIC HANDS-ON SESSIONS
Boston Scientific is an Education partner for physicians across the world, aiding them in their journey to becoming experts in their chosen fields. In these sessions, we focus on the theme of experts training trainees in a simulated environment. To cater to the training needs during ENDO 2017, under the umbrella of EDUCARE Gurukul, we are running a 3 day Hands On Learning Center (February 16-18). With two sessions daily (10am-11:30am & 2pm-3:30pm) participants can learn more about topics including: Cholangioscopy for treatment of CBD stones using laser lithotripsy, biliary cannulation, gastroscopy with hemostatic clipping techniques, colonoscopy with self-expanding stent placement, endoscopic ultrasound with FNA and Cholangioscopy for the treatment of CBD strictures. CANTEL HANDS-ON SESSIONS
Following the release of the latest WEO guidelines the following “wet lab” experiential learning sessions have been arranged. The staff will experience first-hand the latest reprocessing procedure for each of the processes involved in the reprocessing of a flexible endoscope. These include leak testing, manual cleaning, manual HLD, AER disinfection, storage and safe transportation of the endoscope.

COOK MEDICAL HANDS-ON SESSIONS
Cook Medical’s ERCP hands-on training sessions (16th – 19th Feb) provide hands-on training opportunity to ERCP practitioners at various experience level. Using Cook’s state-of-the-art ERCP Trainer model, participants can enhance their skills on basic cannulation, stricture management and stone management. With the newly launched cutting papilla, participants can even perform sphincterotomy. Honorable ERCP masters including Dr Vipulroy Rathod, Dr Rajesh Puri, Dr Amol Bapey, Dr Suvadip Chatterjee, Dr Malay Sharma, Dr Panduranga, Dr Nagarjuna Kumar, Dr Naveen Polavarapu and Dr Sharat Putta will offer one-on-one coaching and share their valuable clinical skills and knowledge.
